By Shawn Ashley Hudecki to leave Fallin cabinet Oklahoma Secretary of Education Phyllis Hudecki announced Tuesday she is resigning as Gov. Mary Fallin’s secretary of education. Hudecki will return full-time as executive director of the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition (OBEC). While serving in the governor’s cabinet, Hudecki had served part-time as an executive for OBEC. According to a press release from Fallin, the OBEC board of directors asked Hudecki to lead the organization full-time as it prepares a new agenda designed to support K-12 education professionals and strengthen public schools. Hudecki’s resignation will be effective July 15 and will make her the fourth cabinet level appointee to leave Fallin’s administration. Former Secretary of State Glenn Coffee announced in December he was leaving the administration and did so by the end of January. Former Secretary of Energy Michael Ming resigned in May. Former Secretary of Gary Sherrer resigned just before the July 1 start of the 2014 fiscal year. Fallin has indicated she plans to combine the environment and energy positions into one cabinet post.
