By Sidi Sanneh Call Homeland Security at (202) 406-5708 I have just called and spoke with Mr. Jonathan Brown of the Department of Homeland Security for the purpose of lodging a compliant about Yaya Jammeh and members of his security detail who assaulted Gambian protesters, including female journalist Fatou Camara, Sam Phatey, Ousainou Mbenga and Coach Pa Samba Jow. I referred to the ongoing police investigations being conducted by the Washington DC Police Department, and insisted that those found to have been involved either as instigators or actual perpetrators of the criminal acts should be held accountable and brought to book. Mr. Brown asked for my personal details, including my phone number, before assuring me once the investigations have been completed, those responsible will be brought to justice. This is important. It could make the difference between these guys being arrested or going home to Banjul as free men after what theyve done to Gambian protesters exercising their rights to free speech and expression. By way of addition detail: Jammeh is at his Potomac residence, still scheduled to depart tomorrow, Saturday 9th August. He has refused to provide his exact departure time.
