By Victoria Baiye......https://youtube/watch?v=8WMgB9uO6l8 AMAZING TESTIMONY! 1 Kings 14:14-16, “In addition, the Lord will raise up a king over Israel who will destroy the family of Jeroboam…He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made Israel sin along with him.” 1 Kings 15:28-30, “Baasha…became the next king of Israel. He immediately slaughtered all the descendants of King Jeroboam, so that not one of the royal family was left, just as the Lord had promised concerning Jeroboam… This was done because Jeroboam had provoked the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, by the sins he had committed and the sins he had led Israel to commit.” 1 Kings 15:33-34, “Baasha son of Ahijah began to rule over all Israel…he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight and followed the example of Jeroboam, continuing the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.” 1 Kings 16:1-2, “This message from the Lord was delivered to King Baasha … ‘I lifted you out of the dust to make you ruler of My people Israel, but you have followed the evil example of Jeroboam. You have provoked My anger by causing My people Israel to sin.” 1 Kings 16:25-26, “But Omri … followed the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat in all the sins he had committed and led Israel to commit…” 1 Kings 22:51-52, “Ahaziah son of Ahab began to rule over Israel…But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the example of his father and mother and the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had led Israel to sin.” 2 Kings 3:1-3, “… Joram began to rule over Israel…He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight…he continued in the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had committed and led the people of Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 10:28-29, “In this way, Jehu destroyed every trace of Baal worship from Israel. He did not, however, destroy the gold calves at Bethel and Dan, with which Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to sin.” 2 Kings 10:31, “But Jehu…refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 13:1-2, “Jehoahaz son of Jehu…reigned in Samaria …he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He followed the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat, continuing the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 13:6, “But they continued to sin, following the evil example of Jeroboam…” 2 Kings 13:10-11, “Jehoash son of Jehoahaz began to rule over Israel…he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 14:23-24, “Jeroboam II, the son of Jehoash, began to rule over Israel…He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 15:8-9, “Zechariah son of Jeroboam II…reigned in Samaria six months. Zechariah did what was evil in the Lord’s sight… He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 15:17-18, “Menahem son of Gadi began to rule over Israel… Menahem did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. … he refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 15:23-24, “Pekahiah son of Menahem began to rule over Israel ...Pekahiah did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 15:27-28, “Pekah son of Remaliah began to rule over Israel...Pekah did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.” 2 Kings 17:21-22, “For when the Lord tore Israel away from the kingdom of David, they chose Jeroboam son of Nebat as their king. But Jeroboam drew Israel away from following the Lord and made them commit a great sin. And the people of Israel persisted in all the evil ways of Jeroboam. They did not turn from these sins.” 2 Kings 23:15, “The king (Josiah) also tore down the altar at Bethel – the pagan shrine that Jeroboam son of Nebat had made when he caused Israel to sin…” It’s very scary to think that the scriptures made reference to just one man several times for his evil deeds. God must have been really angry with Jeroboam the son of Nebat, one of the kings that reigned over His people, Israel. It’s even scarier to think that there may be Christians today whose way of life reminds God of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. Imagine God inspiring men to produce another Bible featuring the story of your life. How different would your testimony be from Jeroboam’s? We are expected to be fair to others, love kindness and loyalty, and humbly obey our God (Micah 6:8, ERV). Our lifestyle should attract others to God. As a parent, is your example encouraging your children to love and seek God? Or are you unconsciously teaching them to defy God’s orders like Jeroboam who led the children of Israel to walk contrary to their God? Does your life draw unbelievers to Jesus or does it give them confidence to remain in their sins? Can young converts safely see you as an example of a believer who is truly walking on the straight and narrow road? Paul said in Philippians 4:9, “Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me – everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you” (NLT). Can you honestly say the same to your spiritual children with no secret fear that they would end up in hell if they actually walked in your footsteps? As a leader in God’s house are you leading the ‘blind’ in your congregation in the way of life? Or do you take advantage of their ignorance to lead them down the path of destruction? Check to be sure that the curse the Lord pronounced in Deuteronomy 27:18 is not against you, “Cursed is anyone who leads a blind person astray on the road’…” The people you have influenced so far in life, is your example which they are copying positioning them for God’s goodness or His wrath? Some Christians are like Jeroboam the son of Nebat who not only sinned but also caused others to sin. Some others are like Paul who said in Acts 24:16, “So I always try not to do anything wrong in the eyes of God and man” (NIRV). Where do you belong? buildingfortheking
