By Will Pruett These rankings are scientifically calculated by the Rank-o-matic 4000 and verified by four out of five top scientists in the wrestling arts. They are to be taken solemnly and with absolute seriousness. 1. Natalya. Its rare in any week for the best WWE match to be a womens match. It just doesnt happen. Its not that the women arent capable, but they just dont get the opportunities. At NXT Takeover, Natalya received the opportunity and ran with it. Her match with Charlotte was a work of art. If it had been a pay-per-view main event, it would have delivered. Nattie proved to be a top worker in one of the best WWE womens matches of all time. 2. Charlotte. Even after the match as she credited Natalya with the amazing effort, Charlotte had a ton to be proud of. It takes a special athlete to have the kind of match Charlotte had. She is still very green, but she proved just how good she can be. As she learns to craft stories and use her natural abilities, she will be a force to be reckoned with. Charlotte is already better than I ever expected her to be. 3. The Usos. Coming out of Payback, The Uso Brothers look awesome. They helped John Cena even the odds against The Wyatt Family and came off as stars in a special event main event. Its nice to see Cena have some friends and its nice to see the abilities of these two twins used to the fullest. WWE is earnestly pushing this tag team, and Im psyched about it. 4. Adrian Neville. The NXT Champion was able to play to his strengths at Takeover and delivered big time. In a match with Tyson Kidd, he was able to craft a physical story and impress everyone watching. Neville may not look great and he certainly isnt great on the mic, but when he is able to physically tell a story in the ring the way he did on Thursday, everything falls into place. Neville is a special talent. 5. Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena was probably the best Last Man Standing match in history. It also had one of my favorite endings to one. Cena had to bury Wyatt to keep him down, he couldnt do it without the help of a couple road cases. Wyatt, along with Harper and Rowan, are likely off to a new feud. This is exciting. 6. Tyler Breeze. NXT produces a ton of silly characters. This isnt a criticism, just an observation. Looking at Breeze, it would be easy to profile him as just another silly character, but at Takeover, he was able to show some real aggression and break out of his shell. Breeze can be a special act for WWE, developing on a path similar to that of Shawn Michaels. His new theme music helps as well. 7. Sami Zayn. What can I say about Zayn that I havent already said? In his losing effort, he furthered his characters hunt for the one big win. He also managed to bring out something new in Breeze and make him look like a million bucks. Zayn is on a path towards greatness. Im psyched about it. 8. Tyson Kidd. Tyson Kidd managed to show more character in the ring at Takeover than he has ever shown in WWE on Raw, Smackdown, Total Divas, or any other show combined. Kidd worked as a subtle heel for the match and completed the turn by turning down the handshake after. Hopefully this rebuilding effort shows people just how good Kidd can be. 9. The Shield. They went 3-0 against Evolution in their elimination match and they proved to be the future of WWE. The improbable performance of WWEs key main event babyfaces over the last month has been awesome. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose are already defying expectations. They are the heart and soul of WWE at this moment. 10. John Cena. Cena took a boring format and brought some friends to help him make it entertaining. The Wyatt Family feud was uneven and a little boring, but the blowoff match was the war it needed to be. Cena somehow elevated five men through this feud though and that is a pretty nice thing to do. Hopefully he is able to continue his effort of getting the next generation ready. Just missing the cut: 3MB, Stephanie McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Brie Bella, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Cesaro, Sheamus, Renee Young, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Jack Funk, and someone else. Nowhere near this list: El Torito, Hornswoggle, MVP, The Wolves, Michael Elgin, The Ascension, El Locale, and B-Boy. Will Pruett writes about wrestling in a facetious and often humorous way.
