By ZamFoot November 7, 2013 Comment Zambia national soccer team interim coach Patrice Beaumelle has said he was disappointed with his teamās 1 ā 0 loss to Jordan last evening but was happy that some of the local players rose to the occassion when they were given the chance. Speaking to Zambianfootball.co.zm at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport when the team arrived from Dubai this afternoon, Beaumelle said he was extremely happy with the performance of the players despite the loss. āIt is not a good result but if you see how the boys played I am very proud because Jordan are still in the World Cup qualifying race, they play in the play-off against Uruguay in two days,ā Beaumelle said. āThey never lost at home, itās a strong team with lots of experience. So, the way we played I think we even deserved to win, it was an own goal after 75 minutes but during the whole game the boys showed that they can play very good football. The Frenchman praised his team tactical discipline as well. They respect what we worked on [prior to the game], with or without the ball so for that we canāt blame the loss on them. Of course we lost but I am telling you they played very very well,ā he said. Zambia conceded an own goal with about 17 minutes to play and failed to convert chances created to bury the game. Beaumelleās next assignment is a game against Egypt on Thursday. He is expected to have a full compliment of Chipolopolo players for the game in Egypt.
