Did you know 83 percent of the contractors building this massive facility are from Alabama? #MadeinAlabama Next stop, Austal shipyard. I toured a Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) and a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) contracted for construction by the Navy. Both, a formidable sight. Its truly fascinating how these massive defense vessels are assembled. Austal employees 4200 people and has a $383 million economic impact.
