By close of 2011, Ghana placed fifth among cholera- endemic countries in Africa. The country had recorded 10,628 cases out of which 106 died. Two out of 350 infected people in the latest outbreak in Accra have died.The Regional Deputy Director of Health Services attributes it, as usual, poor hygiene Fortunately, Ashanti Region has in the last few years recorded no cholera incident. Does it mean we are doing something right or we have just been lucky? Or it happens but not reported at the hospital? What can we do to prevent an out break in Kumasi and other parts of the region?.
