By now, you might have noticed how Ive become a huge fan of exercise. This was certainly not the case a few years ago. Even after I lost my 45 kilos in excess body fat, I rarely exercised. I became more active, but an exercise programme still seemed to hard. I set myself a year long target to get stronger, ultimately this meant fitter. What I learnt along the way was, exercise did more than help burn calories, it also helped relieve stress and motivates us to stay healthy. When it comes to working out, Im a big fan of doing things you enjoy. This can take a bit of creativity…. its not all about running and heart pounding exercise that is kept for a smaller proportion of our population. Exercise must be enjoyable. If you enjoy walking then walk, if you like to dance, then dance. Like the feeling of wind in your hair as you ride a bike, then grab a bike and ride. Anything to get you moving will help. The hotel we are in right now has 5 levels of stairs, while the others are taking the lift, Im taking the stairs. Those stairs get my heart elevated and I feel a little buzzed at the top. Racing the kids up and down them also helps. Other workouts I love include the 7-Minute Workout. It will help you absolutely torch calories in less time than some traditional workouts. The key message of today is - Just get active!
