Being too easy-going, flexible and kind sets you up for being abused: At first, I tried so hard to be understanding when my boyfriend would be inconsiderate and then act like it was no big deal. I wanted so badly for him to tell his friends that I was a Cool Girl. I wanted them to wish that their girlfriends were as cool as me. So I kept quiet when I should have spoken up. This is what Cool Girl does to women: she encourages them to settle for less than they deserve because they want so badly to be her.
