By the way, the schools are left to pick up this mess without funding so I forced the council to acknowledge this too: I have blanked out names to protect the school and my child that SHOULD NOT BE USED AS PAWNS BY THE PUBLIC, POLICE, COUNCIL OR SOCIAL SERVICES: From: Daley DEBORAH [mailto:rationaldenial@ntlworld] Sent: 09 December 2013 13:32 To: Enquiries Subject: Compliments?! Hello my name is Deborah Daley and my daughter ~~~~~~~ attends ~~~~~~~~~ School. This year I had a nervous breakdown, attempted suicide more than once, and my daughter watched her mother dying. I was too ill and paranoid to accept help and was unconscious in bed three week while my daughter took herself to school and carried on as normal. I despise myself for the above, and due to mental health problems and immediate crisis, I didnt realise I was ill. Im still coming to terms with how serious I can be at times. They diagnosed personality disorder and other things. Luckily my body is recovering and my brain seems to be trying to get back too. It mostly affects my personal areas of life. Even writing letters are no longer easy due to the brain damage and i have to get help and use apps to make it work. I dont really get help and they do what they can but i feel my daughter was in desperate need and that she was at risk as no child should be a parent. Nothing could have prepared obviously and now im trying to come to terms and learn about me im becoming aware of who helped where. This is the point of my letter. Im not degrading myself, and exposing all my problems for fun, im finding this very painful and i feel ashamed. But i need you to know EXACTLY what ~~~~~~~ School have done for my child. Frankly i feel they are responsible for keeping my daughter going, and not just going, but supporting her so much they reversed the damage i did. They have shown endless support to her, her exams as a result stopped suffering immediately and they raised her back up to almost straight As predicting. They listened to me at a time when they could have passed the problem on. I beg of you, with every thing i am, to praise the school for going above and beyond the call of duty with all their students. Im so proud of what they are. Not only are they fighting for top academic status, they are carrying mentally ill parents and frankly parenting the children. When the white van man episode happened, the school were PHENOMINAL. I was going to pull my child out of school until the danger had passed. I didnt for one reason, the schools security, communication and protection were unprescedented and utterly amazing. The tutors support to the kids over the last two years with all the changes are exceptional. How they kept up the grades with endless disruption to changes in exams and school status and tutors leaving I have no idea, but they did, and still came out on top. The secretaries are on the kids so fast and hard that even after school had finished a fire alarm went off and they were out and at the gates like lightning with all the kids back on the premises and accounted for AFTER HOURS. I had an emergency when ~~~~~~~ was missing, they located her immediately. My daughter is here with her mother, BECAUSE OF ~~~~~~~~~ SCHOOL. Mrs ~~~~~~~, my daughters protection officer, has reversed damage where her own mother couldnt get her to talk and open up. There is nothing you could say or write to me that will make a difference, all I care about is that the school is commended in some way that reflects what they are achieving with our children in Leeds. I beg you, step up and if you dont have an award that can reflect this, then at minimum design one and make it available to schools each year. Could you at least write to them, or keep my experience on file while simultaneously protecting my anonymity? I dont want it public as nobody knows and my daughter will get bullied locally if kids know about my mental health problems. Yet im desperate to find a way for the school to be recognised for their private and personal support as well as all the exam results. Schools are SO much more than just education. Please commend ~~~~~~ for this. Yours genuinely, Deborah Daley
