‘B’Haram plans to attack 50 towns in Borno’ JUNE 26, 2014 BY OLUSOLA FABIYI A delegate at the National Conference, Ibrahim Bunu, said on Wednesday that he had information that members of the dreaded Boko Haram were planning to attack over 50 towns and villages in Borno State. Bunu, who was a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated this while speaking at the plenary of the conference. He said he had information that the members of the sect were serious about the planned attack. Bunu said he got the information though a telephone call and that there was the need to beef up security in Borno State in particular and the country as a whole. “Mr. Chairman, this is the information I have to give the conference,” he added. In his contribution, another delegate, Edwin Clark, asked the management of the conference to set a date aside to enable the delegates to discuss the issue of the Boko Haram sect at the executive session. Clark, a former minister of information, said that when the issue would be discussed, it would be better to do with input of all the members. After he spoke, the management of the conference, led by its Chairman, Justice Idris Kutigi (retd), said that the matter would be discussed at a closed door session on Thursday. It was also said that journalists would not be allowed to cover the session.
