C GRADE: - Tungamah defeated Katunga 62 to 35. Award: Kristy Lynch. What great weather for a great game of netball. Todays caption, Sally Eales winning the toss, Tunga with the initial centre pass. The ball starting in the hot hands of Jess Haebich, a quick and swift two passes into the ring and Tungamah with the first goal of the game. The girls kept up the pace and scored another two immediate points, creating the beginning of what would turn out to be a four quarter chase. Tungmah 5 goals ahead at first quarter time with a result of 15 goals to 10. During the second quarter Brodie Gissing skilfully out ran her opponent, forcing Katunga into some unwanted position changes. Sharnie Walden beaconing almost every second ball her way, what a terrific game marker! Tunga 31 goals to Katunga 17 at half time. The third quarter allowed Tungamah time to secure their win. Jenny Buerckner finding a store of energy, eyes for every ball, assisted by the helping hands of Tania Harvey. Amber Peachey with fresh legs and muchly appreciated screens at centre passes bought the three quarter time tele to a 30 goal lead, Tungamah 51 to Katungas 31. The final quarter allowed the aim and agility of our shooters Kristy Lynch and Deb Hayes to shine through. With a final score of 62 goals to Katungas 35. Josie Parmley off and injured during the last quarter due to suspected hyperextension of the elbow (thanks Dr Tania Jones). Despite the score Katunga still put in the fight that allows for a great game of netball. Great team work ladies, good luck for next week!
