C.S. Lewis sees Pride as the greatest sin,“the utmost evil,” in comparison with which “unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that are mere fleabites”. Pride is the cause of all, other sin, Pride is easily described as “My benefit at your expense” its opposite Humility (which is in effect a form of love) can be described as “Your benefit at my expense”. The relationship is that all other vices are in origin the results of pride. Humble yourself in front of the Lord almighty and your neighbor, you will be greatly rewarded for doing so.
