CABO SAN LUCAS! Ever get the feeling it’s later than you think? And high time to embrace every moment to the fullest? Well, Mexico called, and I answered. First getaway not work or family related in over 20 years! My great escape was the all-inclusive RIU PALACE Resort recommended by Imagine Travel’s Shane Lawrence (Yay, Shane!). Incredulous beauty and energy- clearly one of the most magnificent places on the planet. Doesn’t get any better than this, folks. LOVED IT! Highlights included the unexpected excitement of riding out Hurricane Norbert (ah the adventure if it all!) and having a moment with a sombrero sporting iguana in downtown CABO. Staring deeply into each other eyes, we paused for a photo op. Yep, I’m a sucker for touristy stuff and the two bucks I paid the lizard’s handler for the snapshot was priceless cause I’m still smiling! The reptile looked at me through tired gentle eyes, and as I wondered if Mexico had iguana labor laws, I admired my docile friend for his hard work earning income so his owner could make ends meet (If you go to Mexico, be sure to buy directly from the locals to support their families). All part of the Magic of Mexico and wanderlust that nurtures this fly girl soul!
