CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP - The SEDP states that Hanson Brick is Investing in their Caledonia Charter Township Facility and Received Support from theTownship Board Brick manufacturer Hanson Brick is growing operations at their site in Caledonia Charter Township, located at 3820 Serr Rd. The company is rebuilding a second tunnel kiln (which has not been in operation since 2006), in response to improving business opportunities. The approximately $1.4 million capital investment is expected to result in 19 new jobs. The Caledonia Charter Township Board recently awarded a 12-year, 50% property tax abatement on the new investment to encourage the project to move forward. We are thankful to have Hanson Brick grow in our community, and for the support of Caledonia Charter Township in authorizing this tax abatement, which demonstrates they are pro-jobs and pro-business, said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath. It is also exciting to see that this activity is a result of improving conditions in the construction industry in Michigan, which further signifies that the state continues its strong economic rebound, Horvath added.
