CALIFORNIA POISED TO BECOME FIRST IN U.S. TO TRANSITION TO A SUSTAINABLE, LOW-CARBON ECONOMY Asm. Wes Chesbro (D-Arcata) to co-host a press briefing at State Capitol Tues., Aug. 12th at 4:30 pm. Speakers: Asm. Das Williams (D-Carpenteria), CalRecycle Director Caroll Mortensen, and Sacramento City Vice Mayor Jay Schenirer. Both Asm. Chesbro and Williams are expected to speak to their organic waste bills AB 1826 and AB 1594 respectively, which are also expected to be voted on today or tomorrow. Both bills are expected to pass, strengthening the states climate change impact reduction efforts. (official advisory at link)
