The word “SWAG is a frequently used among young people which they interpret wrongly but ASWANS have decided to help redeem the battered images and moribund states of the Academic and Social lifestyle of Nigerian students by right-defining the word. Every student has a mission which without a vision becomes an illusion. SWAG conference now SWAG-V conference is a conference and summit aimed at bringing students from all over the World for an all encompassing interactive session which would include seminar, workshops and other extra curricula activities. The conference will touch all the Academic and Social parts of a student’s lifestyle and also serve as an avenue to re-orientate the mindsets of these students for positive effects. TOPIC: The topic for the conference was born out of the vision of starting with SWAG-V to touch the lives of the students and in the long run affect the entire nation. “THE ROLE OF THE NIGERIAN STUDENT IN CREATING A NEW NIGERIA” is a superb way of getting these students to spell out the countrys challenges and suggest ways to tackle them. DATE: Authentic date of the conference has been fixed as 17th to 20th December, 2014. VENUE: Following several consultations and consideration, the Executive committee members for SWAG-V conference have agreed to host this conference in the south-east of our dear country Nigeria. A further articulation and understanding of the south eastern states involvement in the promotion of educational activities and prioritizing student welfare, we also decided to conduct the world class conference in the eastern heartland, Imo State, Imo International Convention Center Owerri (IICC) ORGANISERS 1. How to Participate In Swag-V Int’l Conference 2014 There are two ways to participate in this conference. They are as follows: ESSAY CONTEST SELECTION This entails the participation of interested Nigerian students in an essay contest to be selected to participate in the conference. These set of students to be selected for the conference will have their registration, feeding, accommodation, transport fare for students in Nigeria and outside Nigeria who can make it to Nigeria on their own, we have there certificate and other benefits free of charge. All cost will be taken care of by the organizers. This essay contest is limited to a particular number of entries and selections as agreed by the organizers base on merit and essay performance. How it works 1. He or she must be a Nigerian Student home or abroad. 2. He or she shall write not more than 2000 words on the topic “THE ROLE OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS IN CREATING A NEW NIGERIA”. (NB: the format is Calibri (body), font size of 14 and with a cover page bearing the students full name, age, school, discipline for University Students, word count, email address, Country of residence and category. Category A= University students and Category B= Secondary school students. The screening, selection, and other procedures will be conducted and the selected number of Nigerian students will be communicated via email or phone number and also they will be informed on how to prepare for the conference while others will receive a generic email on other means of participating in the conference. 4. The best ten in the respective categories A and B will be awarded at the award night of the conference and their write ups published in national dailies.
