COMMUNITY GALLERY SHOW TITLE: Existence: Expressions of Identity Curator: Phylisha Villanueva, Isabel Figueroa Please send submissions to phylishav@gmail or yonkersbluedoor@gmail This exhibition takes a literal and surreal look at questions of identity and existence. The works featured in this exhibition range from literal to metaphysical representations of the idea of self and self awareness. Who am I? What do I stand for? Where am I from? Where am I going? What does it really mean to exist? These are all questions we ask ourselves. Some more often than others. Some in a literal sense, others seeking spiritual awakening. But the reality is we’re all here. We all have a perception of what it means to be here, alive, existing, just to be. Identity is a struggle for all. This call for artist is looking to exhibit students all ages and all community inspiring artist. Once selected please note there is no fee to show your work in this exhibition however we encourage each artist to present their work in the most professional way. All paintings and drawings must be framed. Important dates: Monday June 30th at 5pm Deadline for submissions Tuesday July 8th 12-5pm The day work needs to be brought in Saturday July 12th 5-7pm Open reception Saturday August 23rd 4-8pm Pick up work day.
