CALL FOR HELP FOR GIPORLOS, EASTERN SAMAR. Giporlos is a town about an hour away from Guiuan. I am familiar with the name because I heard it mentioned from time to time whenever I was in Guiuan in the past. According to Queenie Faye, Giporlos is also badly hit. Water, food and medicines are also badly needed. I know we are all swamped at this time, but I would like to emphasize that Samar is one of the poorer places in the country precisely because it gets hit by typhoons every so often and this is the reason why development has been slow. I am sad thinking that a poor community is probably struggling on its own now because help cannot reach them. Or worse, because they have been forgotten, being an unknown little community in a far-flung area. If you have more people in your network whom you can possibly encourage to give, please divert your attention to GIPORLOS and other areas in Eastern Samar.
