CALL TRANSCRIPT - Published: August 2, 2014 MOCANAQUA — The following is a transcript of conversations between emergency responders and Luzerne County dispatchers during the May 15 fire that killed Michelle Dzoch in Mocanaqua. Parts of the transcript below are missing because those sections of the recording were unintelligible due to static. The scanners may also have missed some transmissions altogether. The recordings come from Broadcastify. Tones Dispatcher: Valley Regional Fire, Rescue EMS, 141 for the ladder, Medic 26, Sugarloaf Township on the tanker, 76 Main Street, Conyngham, Mocanaqua section according to caller, reported structure fire. Residential structure fire. Time out, 10:48. Responder: County, 516 portable, 17 Responder: Fire on dispatch, are you saying the Mocanaqua section? That’s in Conyngham Township; that’s not in Conyngham Borough. Dispatcher: We’re aware. (Unintelligible) verifies though it’s going to be in Conyngham Borough. Responder: All right, did you put Moc out on theirs to check their Main Street? 44 second pause Dispatcher: County Sugarloaf station. Bye. Responder: Did I copy this correct? We’re going to Conyngham Borough, not Mocanaqua? Dispatcher: Affirmative. We’re going to get Moc out to check theirs. Caller said Mocanaqua, Conyngham Borough is how she put it to us. It verifies it as the borough, though. States between Surrey Lane and Sachse Ave. An unintelligible transmission is followed by a medical call in North Moreland. Understandable transmissions regarding the fire resume after 2 minutes and 46 seconds. Responder: (Unintelligible) Truck 7 in the Conyngham Borough Dispatcher: (Unintelligible) at 10:53 Responder: (Unintelligible) We have a driver en route to station for the tanker. If they wanted the tanker. I know there’s not good water down there. Dispatcher: OK, we’re advised, we’re just now getting another call, it’s possibly in Conyngham Township. (Unintelligible) a totally different box on it now. Responder: All right. We’re standing by until you confirm. Dispatcher: At this time I do have Medic 26 and 516 on the way down there reference to Main Street in Conyngham. We’re still trying to find out if it’s going to be in Moc there. We’re getting another call now. Responder 2: Luzerne, 241 assistance. 76 Main Street in Conyngham Borough does not exist. It goes from 72 to 80. I’m in the area here. There is no fire obvious. Dispatcher 1: The crosses I’m showing for Conyngham is Surrey Lane and Sachse Ave. But you’re stating nothing’s showing. Medic 516, do you copy? Responder 3: 516 knows. Dispatcher 1: Do you want us to cancel your box then? Responder 3: Yes (unintelligible) Dispatcher: All units responding 76 Main Street in Conyngham Borough, back in service. No need to acknowledge.
