CALLING ALL FORMER TRIADS/VELVETONES: Just talked to Deborah Barnes Hill(Genes daughter). Gene is dealing with some health issues right now that will prevent him from directing us this upcoming weekend --but his son Buddy will be directing(which is almost like watching Gene--Buddy does him proud!) and Gene WILL be there, so lets all make a special effort to come sing for our much loved Gene Barnes and show him how much we appreciate what he did for all of us through so many years at GHS. This reunion is for ALL Triads and Velvetones regardless of year. We will rehearse on Saturday afternoon. We plan to do a few 70s numbers at the Saturday night reunion and will have a band (Howell Mathews putting band together) behind us and then will sing at Gadsden First Baptist Church Sunday morning. We really need to know how many to expect so we will have enough music for everyone. If you will be joining us please comment to this post with BOTH or specify which performance.
