CALM. DOWN. - Nixon announcing the state of emergency is the START of the official government response to the indictment announcement. It doesnt say or establish anything that hadnt already been planned and stated already, namely that the National Guard would be involved and the Unified Command would be re-established, and particularly that the government believes indictment announcement is impending. The implications of declaring a state of emergency when there is no actual emergency are interesting, but nonetheless, the declaration was a formality to establish everything that had already been well-known. - That big long list of targets thats being circulated today? That story broke because The Gateway Pundit, which is a notoriously fringe right-wing local rag, reported that the Justice For Mike Brown group had set all of the locations there as targets. Not only did the Justice For Mike Brown group release a statement on their Facebook page saying that this was completely fabricated and they had nothing to do with it, but that list includes places that have openly allied themselves to the protests and nonsensically vague things like donors and hospitals. Can everyone go back to being irrationally freaked out about ebola? Even the police are saying this descent into hysteria has reached a ridiculous point and everyone needs to calm the hell down.
