CALORIES. Should you count them? Depends. If your goal is to be generally healthy and also be at a healthy bodyweight for your particular build, then you probably dont need to count them. This is ASSUMING YOU OPTIMIZE YOUR FOOD CHOICES. OPTIMIZING FOOD CHOICES = Eating whole foods (meat, fish, eggs, tubers, veggies, fruits and some nuts) and avoiding processed crap. These foods are so highly satiating that it will be incredibly difficult for most people to over-consume them. If you have a more precise goal however, i.e. gaining muscle mass or getting down into into very low bodyfat percentages, then you will most likely need to count calories. Very few people can push the limits of their genetic potential without being aware of their caloric intake. So, whether or not you decide to count calories will be dependent upon your goals. Just realize that for the most precise and effective results, counting calories is the way to go.
