CAMPBELLTOWN: Two northbound lanes on the Hume Motorway are now - TopicsExpress

CAMPBELLTOWN: Two northbound lanes on the Hume Motorway are now open at Campbelltown after a fatal multi-vehicle accident earlier this afternoon. One northbound lane and all southbound lanes on the motorway remain closed. Motorists are still advised to avoid the area as traffic remains very heavy in both directions. Southbound traffic is still being diverted into Campbelltown Road and is queued back more than 10 kilometres to Brooks Road at Ingleburn. Northbound traffic on the motorway is queued around five kilometres to Menangle Road at Menangle Park, and there is also very heavy traffic on Camden Valley Way. Emergency services, police crash investigators and traffic incident response crews remain on site. There is no forecast for when the southbound lanes on the motorway will reopen as an extensive salvage and clean-up operation is required. livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/desktop.html#INCIDENT_455193
