CAMPING: We went camping for 6 days over New Years. We ate lots of BBQs, even for lunch, with big salads. We also had fish n chips and ate out one day. For breakfast we had fried eggs with baked beans or muesli with yoghurt most days. The kids tried gluten free weetbix one day. When the organic milk ran out we used Coco Quench. Snacks were mainly fruit or veggie sticks with dip. I didnt stress about food and it was a great break. I was very lucky that one of the local shops stocked Flyin Fox ice blox. I am an amateur camper and I still struggle to live out of an esky but these are some of my tips: - Order cryovaced meat from your butcher and freeze - Take meat, milk and cheese frozen so that it can defrost over the first two-three days (you could also freeze a bottle of water to use as a giant ice brick) - Buy a bag of ice each day to keep things fresh - Keep veggies wrapped up at the top of the esky so they dont fill with icy water - Have greener salads earlier in the week and potato or quinoa type salads later in the week with tinned or jar items like olives. Carrots and beetroots keep well and I just grate them to make a simple salad. - Jars of saurkraut and kimchi are great for boosting veggie intake while away. - Relax and Have Fun! What are your tips?
