CAN DISCIPLINE BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT HAZING: Big Yes 1. We can adopt the show parade system of punishment. The show parade can be scheduled before 8 am, 12 nn and maybe 8 pm everyday where offenders are made to report in full military uniform for inspection. The offenders will spend extra time here and will really feel the added schedule as a difficulty to their college life. Offenses such as the following will fall in this category: Improper wearing of uniform, improper conduct, tardiness, not following instructions, 2. We can adopt the touring system for offenses higher in category. Offenders will do the touring during saturdays and sundays where they are made to do marching and other activities in the parade ground in full battle gear for a specified period of time depending on the gravity of their offenses. 3. We should impose allowable number of offenses for the training duration. If they have exceeded it, then they should be removed from the rooster of trainees already. 4. We should put up a committee on guidance and counselling to engage offenders as they are given the punishment for their mistakes. The offenders will better understand the punishment and the situation when guidance counselors are able to engage them during show parade. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT WE CAN HAVE A BETTER POOL OF ROTC OFFICERS BY ADOPTING THE SUGGESTIONS ABOVE RATHER THAN ADOPTING METHODS ASSOCIATED TO HAZING.
