CAN INFERTILITY BE INHERITED? The closest thing to inherited infertility would be a hormone imbalance called PCOS. PCOS can run in families. But even with PCOS, just because one family member has it that doesnt mean that others will. Other fertility issues (excluding some genetic issues) arent hereditary. A diagnosis of unexplained infertility by no means indicates a hereditary issue. I would consider whatever your moms issue is an isolated problem. Theres no reason to think that your fertility is compromised.
