CANADIAN TAXPAYERS FEDERATION SAYS GOVERNMENT WORKERS PICK INTERESTING TIMES TO BE SICK #CTF #SKPOLI The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says many government workers seemingly want to take an extra-long Christmas holiday. In a release from the Federations Saskatchewan spokesperson Colin Craig, he says the Monday after this past New Years Day saw 679 government employees call in sick with another 624 doing so two days later. Craig says the Riders also result in government employees taking so called sick days with a total of 618 coming in on the Monday after the September victory at home over Ottawa with just under 600 calling in sick on the day of the Grey Cup parade. Craig says these spikes in sick days arent a coincidence and a healthy amount of money could be saved by government if it tackled high sick day usage. The release goes on to say civil servants are taking 11 sick days a year compared to just under 7 for private sector workers.
