CANNING TOWN BRANCH IS SEEKING TO RECRUIT 15 NEW VOLUNTEERS TO HELP CARE FOR OUR RESCUED CATS.... Animal Care: We particularly need volunteers to help with feeding our rescued cats and cleaning their accommodation. Our cats are fed and cleaned morning and evening, seven days a week. Its hard work but rewarding if you are happy to get stuck in. Cat Socialisers: We also need volunteers to help with socialising our nervous cats and generally spending time with the cats in our care whilst they await new homes. Many cats and kittens are initially shy or traumatised and really benefit from extra attention. Volunteers spend time with the cats playing with toys, gently handling the cats and gaining their trust. Cat socialising usually takes places in the afternoons when its quieter between the main cleaning and feeding shifts. During most of 2014 Canning Town Branch was unable to take on new volunteers due to the disruption caused by building work at the centre.
