CANT WAIT for this movie to come out in Australia at the end of the month! Its based on a true story about a woman (Cheryl Strayed) who Cheryl sets out alone to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (Vincent Cusson?!) -- one of the countrys longest and toughest through-trails. Wild Movie is very near and dear to my heart, especially with all of my current backpacking travels in the land down under (an beyond!). I admire ANY PERSON who willingly embarks on an extensive journey in order to shed past demons and rebuild a character he/she once saw in himself/herself. Theres something so special about being amongst nature, about letting yourself GO, letting your guard down and not being afraid to exposure yourself openly and honestly to eyes of Mother Nature. Although sometimes cut-throat and relentless, her challenging temperament often strips you down ONLY to BUILD YOU BACK UP, and Im convinced that hiking in nature is the BEST THERAPY one could ever ask for. I recall a quote from the amazing musician, Trevor Hall: You look at nature and you go out and spend sometimes in forest or off the grid, or anywhere in nature...slowly, slowly things just start peeling off of you. YAAAS. I could not agree more.
