CANYON RIDGE IS A+ SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE!! Canyon Ridge School earned the A+ School of Excellence award, presented by the Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF), for the 2013-2014 academic year. Canyon Ridge was one of only 34 schools in Arizona to earn this recognition. Their outstanding application and site visit by AEF was judged on school culture, student focus and support, active teaching and learning, curriculum, leadership, community and parent involvement, and assessment data. The A+ School of Excellence Program is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day. The program’s purpose is to identify and give public recognition to outstanding public schools in Arizona, to make available a comprehensive framework of key criteria for school effectiveness that can serve as a basis for participatory self-assessment and planning in schools, and to facilitate communication and sharing of best practices within and among schools based on a common criteria related to success. Canyon Ridge was presented with $500 and a banner that designates them as an A+ School of Excellence.
