CAR OWNER BOB WARD PASSES AWAY Bob Ward of Romulus, MI passed away last evening after being hospitalized earlier in the week. Bob was 78 years old. He was affectionately known as “Grumpy” by all his friends. A car owner for over 40 years, Bob fielded Late Models for many, many drivers, which carried his # 6. He was a superb fabricator and worked on race cars out of his shop at his home. Despite being confined to a wheelchair in the past years, Bob never stopped helping racers and was a fixture at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. He is survived by his wife, Lela, son Jim and daughters Linda and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by another son, Bobby. Visitation will be held at the Crane Funeral Home, 36885 Goddard Road (734-941-9200) in Romulus on Monday, August 19 from Noon to 8:30 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, August 20 at 11 a.m.
