CARAFACE IN ME by Desai Ogada ©25/8/2014 at 4.00pm First it was that silly question Of getting to the heaven bound bus station Board one bus which is driven at a terrific speed like it’s his profession On our southward superhighways to my fated destination The driver being – Angel Gabriel, a well lessoned Godly on the wheels, steering And me one of the heavenly passengers cheering These were all in my mind ingrained at it deeply eating More often in felt lazy and dizzy These complex doubts made me uneasy Often I was turned at ago to some diurnal and nocturnal creature Dithering all my thinking muscles features Creating to live within my blood some strange poisonous snake Deforming my functions to a useless nightingale newbie just for its own sake Sing-shouting- Jesus, God, Gott, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha and all of the forgotten names A mix of all religion Confused but wait Secondly, it was this niggling issue of some tiny animal’s tissue Possessing within their bodily space A carapace Carapace what? To aid in what’s that? To propel in what’s where? To condition in what’s which? That? Where? Which? Thirdly I became united after scrutinizing Deep inquiry Straight talking to these dwarfest creatures in a manner animalizing Unhappy me made happy Healthy I will get unhealthy Unheard of carapace in me and my fellow homo erectus It is unintelligent Sure, silhouette can’t have bone marrows It’s just illusionary shadows Finally my digression These dumbest beasts Have bothered not to speak and talk like me Of going to heaven in an angel driven buses Of writing their capitalized names in books Of playing hooves ball and soccer Of owning hands and homes Then why must I be worried of lacking a carapace Its true I can create a carapace for me and for my neighbors Carapace in crabs Protect them Car space for us men and women Will protect our cars Alas, see the difference.
