CAREER VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Community Affairs/Social Sustainability Specialist and Managers Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) is developing 600,000 acres of farmland for the betterment of Liberian people through oil palm development. Our goal is to provide 40,000 permanent, skilled jobs when fully developed, build manufacturing and value-added industries and create a vibrant and substantial new economic sector for rural communities in the Liberian Southeast. All developed land is selected jointly with local communities, respecting community needs, traditions and farmers. GVL believes that sustainable oil palm development will be the central pillar in rebuilding Liberia’s rural economy, reducing poverty through sound, environmentally sustainable business. We already employ more than 2,000 people in permanent jobs in Sinoe and Grand Kru. Duty Station: Sinoe and Grand Kru Counties • You will join our GVL Development team, which works directly with communities to inform, consult, engage and coordinate development opportunities • You will directly help in bringing prosperity to the Liberian rural communities by matching community needs and objectives with GVL programs through a process of Free Prior Informed Consent • Stable career as well as opportunity for advancement within GVL • High requirement of professionalism, discipline and ability to work with diverse people and communities QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS • Completed Senior High School education minimum, B.Sc. or M.Sc. is an advantage • Experience in working with rural communities across all segments - paramount chiefs, chiefs, elders, women and youth • Computer literacy or ability to quickly become proficient • Ability and willingness to absorb and adapt to systematic methods, standard operating practices and documentation through training we provide • Ability to develop and maintain cordial and trust based relationships with people having a wide spectrum of opinions, attitudes and backgrounds • Willingness to work at times in hardship conditions, working with communities where we wish to bring development • Liberian Citizen from Sinoe or Grand Kru Counties preferred OUR OFFER • Long term stability of employment for the high performing person • Company housing, with free electric power and utilities • Free medical care and children’s schooling • Career path advancement in GVL Send your CV and qualifications proof marked in the subject line"Community Affairs", by email to recruiting@veroleum.
