CARLTON COMPLEX AND UPPER FALLS FIRE UPDATE (Aug. 11) 8-11-2014 5 p.m. New Team Managing Carlton and Upper Falls As Pete Blumes Rocky Mountain Teams two week assignment has come to a close, Beth Lunds Great Basin Incident Management Team #1 has come to assume management of the Carlton Complex and the Upper Falls Fire. Beginning at 6 p.m., Lunds team will be in charge of the night shift on both fires and as of 10 p.m., they will assume all management responsibilities for the Carlton Complex and the Upper Falls Fire. Lunds team has been working with Blumes team today so they will be familiar with the fire areas and activities currently underway and to assure a seamless transition between the teams. Lunds team will also manage the Little Bridge Fire as of 6 a.m. tomorrow. Crews and overhead personnel working under Blumes team will be relocated from the Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop to the camp location south of Twisp currently being used for the Little Bridge Fire. There will be a community meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. in the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp to introduce the new team and provide an update on the fires and planed actions for the next few days.
