*** CARRIER BAG LEVY & WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU*** On 20th October all retailers in Scotland, regardless of their size or sector (supermarkets, convenience stores, butchers, clothes shops etc), will have to charge a minimum of 5p for each and every new, unused single use carrier bag. This includes all bags, paper or plastic that has handles. All our bags will therefore, including our small super shop and happy shopper bags will cost 5p each. So what about loose items? If a new, single use carrier bag is used solely for loose fruit & veg or bird food, this bag will be free. However, if you then put shopping into this bag while on our premises, we will have to charge you the 5p levy. We will be able to supply boxes for your shopping (when available) and we also sell our branded reusable shopping bags instore. If you have any questions just ask us instore or post your question here.
