CARtoons Magazine was and is one of my biggest influences. First published piece was in that mag. George Trosley- Automotive CARtoonist changed my life. His cool is greater than you know. He walked me through art school and is a treasured friend to this day...make no mistake. Ive been groomed. :) Anyway....another huge influence...maybe someone whos whimsy I try to capture in my toons, and whos shape driven eye composition....you know....when you look at a piece and your eye puts the image together for you.....is Charlie Paw. His work was in a few issues in the early 80s and it literally blew me away. The rapidiograph pen hatching and line width play is a skill that escapes my ability. You wont find Charlie Paw online....you wont find him mentioned in books, but if you dont see his imprint on my toons.....you just might be blind. :) I LOVE this guys stuff. Note: yeah...these are pics from my CARToons stash. :)
