CAST IRON COOKED BREAKFAST : NOT SPAM* (*technically, ok so it it) Ok, so I decided on something out of my ordinary for breakfast..... walking out of the pantry, my Mrs. sorta shrugs at my choice, actually she probably mumbled disgusting anyway, popping the can open on the way to the counter, she remarked, I cant believe you will eat that, it smells like cat food I told her that after pan frying in a CAST IRON skillet it will be delish ! she may have said that my breakfast was gonna kill me too... anyway....... sliced into thick slabs, and into the pan.... must admit, things WERE smelling better (like cooked cat food at this point). Then, nice and browned, and slightly crisped on the edges, I settle down to enjoy my breakfast, I havent had this in years, and still enjoy it... NOTE: I said enjoy, not necessarily love it though, any way, finishing the treat, and returning my plate to the sink, I decided to retrieve the can from the trash, as an after the fact investigation on my meal..... note: I know that Spam is not ideal of a meal...... ok, so I find that Spam contains 16 grams of fat, which is 25% of the recommended daily value, (not bad) and 790 mg of sodium, (not great, as that is 33% of the daily recommended value) among a few other questionable things, but alas....only 1 carbohydrate, so thats a good thing. Upon further investigation.... I find that my four slices that i got out of my can, were actually representing the insane SIX SERVINGS IN the CAN... that is ludicris !!!!! cutting it into six slices would be silly, and way too thin ! My Mrs. says that the six portions i got out of that one can represent ALL I CAN EAT FOR THE ENTIRE DAY !!!! thats insane..... not only insane, but now I am HUNGRY AGAIN>>>> and cant eat anything untill tomorrow morning.......that sux!!!!! (but... she IS going to town today, so while the cat is away.........) I did tell her that the action of inducing heat to food, there is a chemical reaction that burns off calories before it is eaten, so its not as bad as it seems..... (anyone agree?) .......she has left the house for a while now.... im going to see what other trouble i can find in the pantry... my plate is clean, have cleaned the CAST IRON SKILLET, and it is dryed, re-oiled, and ready for another round of CAST IRON COOKING
