CASTING CALL!!!! Hello men of UTG! My name’s Collin Snyder, and I’m holding auditions for my RTF Directing Workshop scene on Tuesday, September 20th from 12-2 (each audition will be in a ten-minute slot). The scene is from the movie “Weekend” (2011). On a Friday night after a drunken house party with his straight friends, Russell heads out to a gay club. Just before closing, he picks up Glen, and what’s expected to be just a one-night stand turns into a weekend that will resonate throughout their lives. RUSSELL (20s) - Reserved and sensitive, he is out to his close friends but finds it difficult to make his romantic inclinations visible in public. Deep down, however, he truly wants intimacy with another person. GLEN (20s) - Stubborn and impulsive, he wants desperately to fight for what he believes in and has little tolerance for those who don’t want to join him, a result of a deep emotional blow dealt to him in the past. **A convincing British accent is a big plus, but not required. The scene will be presented in my directing class at some point between 2 and 5 on Tuesday, October 7th, and there will be 2-3 rehearsals beforehand depending on peoples’ schedules. It’s a great opportunity for anybody interested in trying screen acting, and the performance will be taped so you can have a copy afterwards.
