Break a leg} SAC 404 Film (University of Michigan / Student Short) The Open Window - ADDITIONAL AUDITIONS: Thursday, October 16th 5:30pm-9:00pm *Auditions will be scheduled every ten minutes between these times. Contact [email protected] to schedule an audition. My name is Shayna Naemi and I’m producing a short film with Jess Herron and David Olonoff for our adaptation class. The director is David Olonoff and the film is called “The Open Window” based on the short story by Saki. Story: A neurotic workaholic must take a break from his strenuous schedule in order to relax for the first time in ages, but he soon realizes his attempt at a vacation has led him to the most unusual of places. We’re very excited to adapt this story and we’re casting for the following roles: FRAMTON NUTTEL (Male, college age) - Neurotic workaholic who hasn’t taken a real break in years. Constantly wound up and under stress. MRS. SAPPLETON (mid 40s - late 50s) - Vera’s aunt, and Mr. Sappleton’s wife. Owns the house Framton travels to. Loves her family above all else. Sweet, caring, and a bit eccentric. MR. SAPPLETON (mid 40s - late 50s) - Vera’s uncle, and Mrs. Sappleton’s husband. Friendly, hard-working, loves to go hunting with his spaniel. *If you can play the part, were willing to be somewhat flexible with the ages. AUDITION LOCATION: Modern Languages Building at the University of Michigan 812 E WASHINGTON ST Ann Arbor, MI 48109 Auditions will be located in the Demo Room of the ISS media center on the 2nd floor of the Modern Languages Building. Please enter through the E Washington Street entrance. Parking is available about three blocks away in a Public Structure on E. Washington street. There is also metered parking along the streets that is free after 6pm. WHAT TO BRING: Headshot/resume required. Monologues welcome, but not required. Sides will be provided once your audition time is confirmed. KEY DATES: Shooting: Will take place over the course of five days. This may be split between some weekday nights in November, and the second, third, and fourth weekends of November.
