Angela is a new caretaker for Gavriel, as in the past he is repugnant and unpleasant. For Angela, its about her needs to support her family, and to be respected is to show respect to Gavriel. Despite of her calmness and composure, an impulsive dispute with Gavriel happens that concluded her dismissal and an unprecedented outcome. “AN ANGEL WITH WOUNDED WINGS” CHARACTER BREAKDOWN (Note: Do not limit yourself, if you think you can look older or younger to match the character’s age, please submit yourself. We are looking for real talents. We don’t judge you by look or size. Bring your talent to the table and get discovered.) ANGELA - lead female (age range 35-45) Angela is a forty year old stay home mom. She is a religious woman in her own right. When her husband died, she takes the responsibility to provide for her 16 year old daughter and taking care of her 79 year old ailing mother. She works as a caretaker for Gavriel, a man paralyzed from the waist down. She is observant to details in her every day routine. A calm and collective woman, until a blown out argument with Gavriel where she lost herself control. GAVRIEL - lead male (age range 45-55) Gavriel is a sixty year old Filipino-American Jewish mix who lives in the Philippines for most of his life. At a young age, he lost both of his parents in a car accident which left him permanently confined in a wheelchair. He is great at times, but, a mean and disrespectful individual. Self centre and doesn’t give a damn about others. An arrogant man with good hidden intention. PEDRO - a thirty something driver of Gavriel. He is kind, outgoing man and minds his own. He think he knows all about Gavriel and likes talking about it with Angela. SUSAN - a sixteen year old daughter of Angela. She attends high school nearby and enjoy hanging out with her school mates. A normal young girl in today’s society, conservative and well mannered in front of her family. On the other hand she has a wild side, she understand her mom’s sacrifices to bring bread and butter on the table. To help out, she accepted a part time job behind her mom’s knowledge. HELEN - a forty five old unmarried sister of Angela. She lives across Angela’s house and helps look after their mother. She looks after Susan when needed. She is quite and doesn’t say much. HECTOR - a thirty five year old pharmacist and a former classmate of Angela. He is a good looking unmarried man and makes a modest living. He is infatuated with Angela since he first met her at school. MARIA - a forty five year old church volunteer and an employment agent. A friendly and approachable woman. She met Angela at the congregation. ROSE - a seventy nine year old mother of Angela. She is suffering from ovarian cancer and slowly losing her memory due to old age. NOTE: We are not expecting anyone to memorize all the lines, reading the side during the audition is allowed. We are more interested to see how you deliver the lines with your own rough emotions to bring the character come to life. We will give every selected and invited actors a sufficient time to perform their role with and without directions, we want you all to do well.
