A little bit about the character/story below: Deepak is an artist and after meeting Jane and falling in love with her, he gains the courage to live out his life-long dream of becoming the Indian Harry Connick, Jr. Deepak’s parents haven’t spoken to him for two years since he quit medical school. In the pilot he calls them and lets them know that he has recently become engaged. His parents are overjoyed and immediately board a plane from India to meet the bride. When Deepak’s wealthy family meets Jane’s trailer-trash family, the shit hits the fan!
