CATCH UP ON YOUR FRENCH – at the Museum this Thursday – AHA Night – see “La Retour de la Baleine Boréale” (The Return of the Bowhead Whale), a visually stunning documentary about one of the planet’s longest-lived animals, the bowhead whale. The film follows several researchers, including Dr. Bernard Leblanc, of Canada’s Dept. of Fisheries & Oceans. Travel Canada’s icy waters with Dr. Leblanc and his Inuit guides, and to the N.B. Whaling Museum with two of the Museum’s staff to get an up close and personal view of this enormous yet graceful whale. First aired on Canadian Public Television in Sept. 2014, it’s narrated in French without English subtitles, but its beauty speaks for itself. Two screenings: 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. FREE.
