**CATCHING FIRE SPOILERS** I dont really hate any changes that were made in Catching Fires translation to film, but the ones that bother me most are the ages of the victors being completely manipulated beyond recognition, how Peeta and Katniss dont really bond the night before the Quell, so you cant really believe the whole let me suck your face thing, the fact that Katnisss pregnancy is mentioned only once and Peetas leglessness is mentioned never, and how the wire scene was so drastically different that I barely recognized what was going on. But there were also some amazing changes and scenes that fit the big screen perfectly. The inclusion of President Snows granddaughter really solidified that line between Capitol children and District children, the absence of some of the scenes and characters definitely made it flow better in film form, the fashion was spot-on, and Effie was such a better character since you could see her act like a human. Overall, I guess Ive come to the conclusion that films and books are separate entities. I used to get so upset at the changes in Harry Potter and then when I began watching LotR, I waited to read the books until I watched the movies because I didnt want to ruin the experience. And I saved myself a lot of complaining and disappointment. Two different mediums can do so many interesting things but they also have their obstacles. I just wish that filmmakers made the additional scenes and made them Extras on the DVD so I could see them in all their beautiful g(l)ory.
