Lets remember as we read todays portion that every life that was lost as Zedekiah and his men are forcibly taken by the Babylonians is a life that could have been spared if only this wicked, stubborn and somewhat naive king of Judah would only have listened to Yahweh speaking through Jeremiah and surrendered years earlier. The life of Zedekiah is a cautionary tale to any of us who are so abundantly blessed and gifted in this life and yet want to ignore the God who is blessing us and gifting us so as to bless others and bring Him glory.
