These people are usually dismissed as conspiracy theorists because the United States Government would never hurt its own citizens, right? Throughout the 80s the US Gov funded right wing guerrilla armies in South America under the guise of fighting communism. One of the most famous incidents was the Iran-Contra scandal where the CIA sold guns to Iran (against arms embargo) and then used the profits to fund the Contras in Nicaragua. These guerrilla fighters were described as one of consistent and bloody abuse of human rights, of murder, torture, mutilation, rape, arson, destruction and kidnapping On December 2nd, 1980 an American missionary and 3 nuns were raped and murdered in El Salvador.
