CAVEAT EMPTOR.....THE GOVERNORS ARE ADVERTISING PICTURES OF PHYSICAL STRUCTURES AS BASIS FOR PERFORMANCE...DO NOT BE DECEIVED! The best infrastructure that adds to quality of life are the ones we cannot easily see (The intangibles)....but rather experienced...POWER, PORTABLE WATER, ICT, HEALTH CARE etc....ROADS are a part of it...but I am deliberately removing it because that remains the highest point of deceit of successive State Govts in Nigeria... It is all these physical ones that Governors use to deceive us...and each new regime reconstructs the same physical infrastructure and shows us as delivery......check the past 15 years of democracy...you will notice the governors are showing the same thing....they are repainted and reconstructed....except some states that have managed to do new things.... (1) Physical structures built with LOW quality materials...represent pipes that drain and move monetary resources to private pockets--- regime after regime... (2) Roads that are not networked to enable farmers and people in the villages have seamless access to markets for goods distribution....is value erosion... (3) State house built with Billions of Naira is sunk cost... (4) City/town gates and walls....are sources of sunk costs (5) Stadiums built with Billions of Naira in zones of low recreational activities are money miss road (6) School buildings with modern facilities but without quality teachers that can use them and methods or learning ...are sunk cost (7) Roads without sound traffic system and transport scheme.....equal to nil (8) Airports built where there is no effective trade and industry that energize it...are wasted funds So those of you being shown pictures and physical structures by Gov in power as source of performance so that you vote them back or their endorsed candidates....always ask.... Are these the same structures built by previous governments?...or previous regime (not more than 20 years ago) Do these lead to increase in productive capacity of the State? Do these lead to increased IGR? Do these increase quality of life? Do these lead to poverty reduction? What is value for money...if same structure cost Ghana or Kenya govt much less then how come this one costs like 5times? Shine your eyes my people as you elect the new Governors!!
