CBC Spotlight is the juvenilia Battle of the Bands competition all over again. They are unlikely to find any act that is in anyways interesting despite the incredible talent heard by small crowds in small dingy bars all over Canada. The artists that have unique perspectives and skill arent usually the same ones who have business sense and PR skills to build a brand and fan base that votes online (which is lame). The old partnership of labels and musicians has faded and now there so many more business considerations to be pro musician.
