CBCs the current posses the question Is a WWIII even possible? I hope not. Im leaning more towards the let them burn camp these days. When Canada and Quebec go toe to toe over a renewed sovereignty association waste-of-money or a natural disaster floods a community in Manitoba or a storms devastate a coastal community... the number of european, eastern-european, asian, south-east-asian, north-african, etc. countries that will begin campaigns to provide financial, humanitarian and technical support ... will be exactly zero. Meanwhile we redirect money from social programs to support (for example) a 35 billion dollar fighter jet purchase because... we need to run military ops in far off lands to protect one side or the other in arguments that have not one thing to do with us in Canada. We send our sons and daughters to fight and die in deserts and valleys on the other side of the world... We spend vast fortunes on financial, developmental and technical aid for countries that refuse to stop fighting with themselves long enough to clean their own water. Will there be a World War III? I fricking hope not. There is so much stupid in the rest of the world and no amount of fighting seems to change that ... not one single bit. We have our problems in Canada... but were not blowing one another up, having violence filled and violence fuelled protests, or allowing millions to die while aid is squandered by an elite few. I care about my fellow inhabitants of planet earth... but honestly... not so much that I think the nut cases on the far side of the planet actually deserve my tax dollars or the lives of fellow Canadians as payment for their stupidity.
