CBE Companies has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst II in our Cedar Falls, IA office. The Financial Analyst II is responsible for structuring, managing and prioritizing a wide range of financial activities, tasks and priorities across all CBE business units. This position will take a strategic and service oriented approach to working with the management of each business unit to define, recommend and resource their specific financial analysis needs and priorities. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Support corporate financial decisions through the implementation and performance of analysis of multiple sources of financial and operational data. Analysis includes, but is not limited to: corporate strategic planning support, forecasts, capital budgeting/forecasting, employee productivity and efficiency, business case support and analysis, including payback, NPV, and IRR, portfolio and/or strategic business unit profitability, and provision of recommendations based upon analyses performed. Develop, implement, and apply proven accounting, analytical and problem-solving methods to help develop, implement, and maintain effective financial models. Implement and perform analytics and data mining to identify revenue opportunities, performance trends, cost efficiencies, and other items which support corporate or horizontal objectives. Advise and assist Operational Vice Presidents in financial analysis designed to develop strategic and tactical management procedures to support the financial goals for each line of business. Develop and provide post-project analysis and create reporting up-dates in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and outcomes. Serve as resource for team members. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop long-range analyses, forecasts, and reports supporting corporate strategic plan. Develop short-term forecasts and provide revenue/expense comparisons and tracking of key metrics. Analyze financial data and develop reports that measure corporate profitability. Develop and provide reports, analyses, and key performance indicators to assist in monitoring and achieving productivity and profitability. Assemble and analyze historical financial data; identify trends and ensure they are incorporated into short- and long-term forecasts. Develop understanding of business drivers and the impacts changes have on the results. Develop and perform advanced financial analyses on corporate projects and initiatives in support of business cases, including the provision of payback, NPV, and IRR. Develop and perform post-implementation analyses of projects/initiatives to ensure business case and return objectives achieved. Implement process and provide decision support for sales process and monitor closed sales for comparison to expected results. Implement and manage capital project planning process, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on items as they move through the process. Monitor and report on predicted vs. actual ROI’s for all items. Implement, monitor, and manage accounting offshore activities, including foreign currency translation and taxation issues. Plan and conduct technical accounting research and provide recommendations based upon research. Maintain expert level of understanding of general ledger and forecasting software packages, how to use them most effectively, and assist others within the organization with the products. Design and perform process improvement reviews, including the development of advanced flow charts and documentation of processes. Develop and manage execution of hypothesis-based analytics with sound results. Design, develop, maintain, and execute advanced financial models. Design, develop, maintain, and execute reporting solutions. Demonstrate ability to participate in and oversee multiple analytic efforts and quality checks concurrently. Coach operational and cross-functional teams in preparing final deliverables. Take macro view of industry and incorporate said view into team. Generate innovative approaches to address business problems. Translate objectives into hypotheses and team work plans with discrete modules. Set overall conceptual framework and approach for financial analysis and modeling. Extract, create, organize, utilize, and interpret data from general ledger, forecasting, and reporting software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts for analytical and modeling purposes. Demonstrate commitment to planning and discipline. Manage resources as needed. Ensure that team members are focused on delivery goals. Demonstrate exceptional ability to manage customers and stakeholder expectations and priorities. Prepare and educate to ensure that assignment hand-off results in successful execution.
